Maintenance & repairs

Your customer knows one number. Your rota knows who is on call.

Lifts, heating, automatic doors, technical installations: organise your team’s handovers without resetting the repair helpline every time something changes.

Your team

The hidden work behind the on-call number.

On Friday, someone checks the rota and updates call forwarding. A technician swaps their Saturday: the rota needs updating, colleagues need telling and someone has to remember the phone line. 1shift connects these changes so calls follow the accepted shift.

Prepare for nights and weekends

Reuse a weekly template. Assign qualified people and identify the slots that still need cover.

Arrange cover for just the hours you need

A technician can hand over a few hours. The colleague covering receives calls during that period, then the original technician takes over again.

Plan a second person to call

Set a call sequence to a colleague or supervisor. If nobody answers, a fallback action applies.

Before we talk

A few answers to help you get started.

Can we manage several repair teams?

Yes. Several rotas can run in parallel, each with their own roles and call routing. This lets you separate the rotations of different teams or sites.

Does the technician need to give the customer their personal number?

The customer calls the shared on-call number. The technician’s personal number is not disclosed to the caller during this incoming transfer.

How should we prepare for the demo?

Bring an example of an on-call week and your current phone line rules: office hours, evenings, weekends and unanswered calls. We will walk through these cases with you.

Getting started

We start with your current on-call service.

Your rota, your phone line, your particular requirements. These are the starting points for our first conversation.

  1. 01

We look at how you work.

Who takes the shifts? What hours? What should happen if nobody answers? We show you the workflow in 1shift.

  2. 02

We agree on the phone connection.

A number provided by 1shift, or a connection to your phone system. Together, we review how to keep your number and the constraints of your setup.

  3. 03

    We prepare to go live.

We check the roles, the rota and the path of calls with you before switching your on-call service over.

Budget and support, from the first conversation.

Tell us about your team size, phone lines and call volume. Together, we clarify the service cost, phone connection and support arrangements before going live.
